Maqhaam Hazrat Ali ‎...كرم الله

Hazrat Ali (Moula Ali) does not only belong to Shia Community but Hazrat Ali belongs to the whole Deen e Islam (Whole Muslim Community). This short article describes the great Maqhaam Hazrat Ali (كرم الله وجهه). 

Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) himself declared " Mann Kunto Maula Fahaza Aliyunn Maula ". This Hadith means Rasool’Allah (s.a.w) said " One who has me as his master, has Ali (A.S) as his master ".

This was the declaration of Ali’s spiritual sovereignty (Wilayat) and its unconditional acceptance is binding on the believers till the Day of Judgement. It clearly evident that anyone who denies Ali’s spiritual leadership (Wilayat), in fact, denies the Prophet’s leadership.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ shared his legacy (inheritance) only with selected ones. The Three (3) great legacies of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) may be summed up as follows

First Legacy - The spiritual legacy of Internal (hidden) sovereignty – This legacy of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was given only to the members of the Prophet’s family (Ahle Bayt) only. The Spiritual Legacy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also known as Wilayat (Saintliness Legacy) for this legacy, Hazrat Ali al Murtaza (A.S) was directly appointed by Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam). The first man for the spiritual legacy (Wilayat) was Ali al-Murtaza (R.A) and Ali Al Murtaza (Moula Ali) is the head of the entire (Wilaya or Awliya)

Second Legacy - The political legacy of external (manifest) sovereignty – This legacy was given to the rightly guided caliphs. The political legacy of the Prophet ﷺ also known as Khilafah Rashida (Caliphate) for this legacy, Hazrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (R.A) was directly appointed by Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam). The first man of political legacy was Hazrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (R.A) and Hazrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (R.A) is the head of all the Khilafah (Caliphate)

Third Legacy - The Legacy of religious sovereignty (The Legacy of Intellectual guidance) – This legacy was given to the Companions and the Successors. The intellectual and practical legacy of the Prophet ﷺ came to be known as guidance and belief - The first men of intellectual and practical legacy were the Companions (Sahaba). In the guidance, all his Companions and Caliphs were his directly appointed deputies.

Please note the Caliph is elected by the people, whereas the Wali is appointed directly by Allah and his Rasool (S.A.W). This is the reason that the First Caliph Abu Bakr as-Siddīq (R.A) was elected on the basis of Umar Faruq’s (R.A) proposal and the support of the majority of public opinion. But the first Spiritual Leader Moula Ali (Karramallahu Wajhul Kareem) was directly appointed by the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam) himself.

Caliphate is entrusted to the Ummah, and Spiritual leadership is entrusted to the progeny (Ahle Bayt / family). The proof of the caliphate is the consensus of the Companions, the proof of spiritual leadership (wilayah) is the declaration of the Prophet ﷺ. One who denies the caliphate, in fact, denies history and consensus, and one who denies the spiritual leadership (Wilayah) denies the Prophet’s declaration.

Therefore, both the caliphate and spiritual leadership are inescapable realities. What is urgently needed is a clear understanding of the reality of the two institutions in order to present them to the people as unity, and not a division.”

By means of the declaration — " Mann Kunto Maula Fahaza Aliyunn Maula " Prophet Muhammad ﷺ declared “One who has me as his master has Ali as his master.

And by means of declaration “ Ali Wali Kum Baadi ” Prophet Muhammad ﷺ declared “Ali is your spiritual leader after me”. Thus Prophet Muhammad ﷺ pronounced Ali (A.S) as the opener of the spiritual kingdom (wilayat)
